If you have graphic glitches, low FPS, or crashes, checking your graphics card driver version can help figure out if an update is needed. Here is how you can do it:
🔵 For Intel
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Windows Start icon. Select Device Manager to open it.
- Click Yes if prompted for permission from User Account Control.
- Expand the Display Adapter section and right-click on your Intel Display Adapter. You may have one or more adapters depending on your system configuration. Select Properties.
- Navigate to the Driver tab and note the Driver Version presented.
⚫ For AMD Radeon
- Right-click on your desktop and select AMD Radeon Settings.
- Click on System to access the system overview, software, and hardware details.
- Select the Software tab for detailed information about the installed graphics driver. This screen provides the driver version as well as the versions for the various software components installed.
- Click on View Release Notes. The release notes for the currently installed driver will be displayed using the system's default browser.
🟢 For NVIDIA
- Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Select Help > System Information.
- The driver version is listed at the top of the Details window.
You can also get the driver version number from the Windows Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button (bottom-left corner) and choose Device Manager
- Click Yes if Windows asks for permission
- Expand the Display adapters section
- Right-click your graphics card → Properties
- Select the Driver tab and read the Driver version. The last 5 digits are the NVIDIA driver version number.
🍏 For macOS (Intel/AMD/Apple Silicon GPUs)
On Mac, graphics drivers are bundled with macOS updates, so checking your driver version means checking your macOS version and GPU details.
To ensure you have the latest drivers, update macOS via Apple menu → System Settings → General → Software Update.
To see the main information about your driver:
Click the Apple menu (top-left) → select About This Mac → More Info.
In the Overview tab, look for Graphics — you’ll see the GPU model (Intel, AMD Radeon, or Apple M-series).
Click System Report… → in the left sidebar, select Graphics/Displays.
Keeping your drivers up to date ensures smoother gameplay and fewer problems.
